Training My Sight

Following a night of incomparably restless slumber I am awakened by an Amtrak employee requesting I abdicate the cushioned couch I stealthily staked at 3:30 a.m.

Shuffling off to the viewing car I am met with misty Sierra like vistas of baby pines sprouting on rocky crags followed by vast fields of grazing cattle punctuated by periodic homesteads.

I can't imagine driving to Ashland again.
