Othello and Blood

How about a lecture before a show? Can't pass up a talk on the sexual symbolism of the handkerchief and bed in Othello.

Gotta love a frail, trembling-voiced, female professor holding aloft a snow white handkerchief embroidered in the corners with blood red strawberries stating matter of factly:

"This is the way the blot-spotted sheets of Othello and Desdemona should look after their first union. But their marriage remains unconsummated, sheets unsullied, pure white. . . until the violent bloody death of both in bed at the close of the tragedy. And mark my words, there should be LOTS of blood in that bed!"

Now I'm ready for the show. . .
